To improve page and user experience, Google rolled out new ranking factors - Core Web Vitals. They join an existing list of page experience metrics.
Changes in Google's ranking factors
What is SEO?
"Search Engine Optimization” is the process of optimizing your website to make it “easier” for Google (and other search engines) to find your website.
What are the new Core Web Vitals?
New Google updates measure Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
LCP demonstrates the render time of the largest content on your website to load, as it usually appears the last on your screen.
First Input Delay (FID)
This signal measures the time between the user clicking on something until the time when a browser can respond and give a result.
Cumulative Layout Shifts (CLS)
CLS refers to visual stability on your website. Google wants to reduce unexpected movement of the content.
What are Google's Priorities?
Google will prioritize content, but page experience will help Google decide which content to rank higher.
How will Core Web Vitals change SEO?
Chrome User Experience Report, PageSpeed Insights, Search Console (Core Web Vitals Report) will help tracking Core Web Vitals performance.
Thank you, and we hope you enjoyed it!
