What is a leader? Many people think that a leader is a boss, the top manager. So, if you are the CEO, by definition you are the one in charge. However, while it’s true that CEOs are the bosses, this doesn’t necessarily make them leaders too. Being a leader is a skill, not a profession. So, they have to learn how to be a successful leader.
As an example, let’s say you started your own company and you are the CEO now. On paper, you are the boss. In reality, you are simply a manager. You manage your employees, assign tasks and push for results. Consequently, inexperienced CEOs end up micromanaging their team, which is destructive and exhausting for everyone, including themselves.
A leader, on the other hand, knows how to approach their team and the job at hand. When they assign tasks, they don’t just push for results. They inspire, listen, consult and bring out the best in their team. Leaders turn micromanagement into communication. As a result, they gain much more value from initiated work, as everyone is happier and more productive.
Some entrepreneurs have a natural talent for being a leader. They have a brilliant idea and start a business without any education supporting it. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But if we look at doctors and lawyers, they become good at what they do by observing and assisting others with more experience. So, what about leaders and CEOs?
For them, there’s CEO Clarity. As the name suggests, CEO Clarity is a mentorship program for, well, CEOs. The program was founded in 2018 by Kim Schrøder when he saw a need in the market for CEOs to become more knowledgeable about what makes a great CEO.
Kim’s 20+ years experience at C-level started as a European CIO for Arthur Andersen. Later on, he became the CEO of his own company, Advis, which he grew to 265 employees before it got acquired by Intrum Justitia AB. Today, Kim is ready to pass on his experience and wisdom to teach today‘s CEOs how to be a successful leader, tomorrow.
Wiredelta® firmly believes that every company, no matter how big or small, must have a digital presence. CEO Clarity is a prime example of a new company with big dreams. But, like all small startups with high potential, CEO Clarity also works on a budget. So, to help Kim, we followed a different approach by involving him in the process of building the page.
This project has been an adventure for both our team and CEO Clarity. Kim is a self-made man and loves learning everything about his business. Hence, he welcomed the challenge with a smile in his eyes and a bag full of ideas, and literally, together we set to work.
For the framework, we used WordPress, as it is the most popular and most user-friendly CMS. But, for Kim to have the required editing capacity, we integrated WordPress with Elementor. Elementor is a drag-and-drop page builder that gives users the creative freedom they need. Normally, users choose a theme, and based on it, they get some editing options. With Elementor, the website a user creates is a blank canvas. They are free to follow their vision.
More importantly, the editor supports integrations with different tools for email marketing, e-commerce, SEO, and social networks. So, users choose those suitable for their business. Just a few examples are MailChimp, HubSpot, WooCmmerce, Yoast, Slack, and Facebook.
While Kim arranged most of the pages, Wiredelta’s developers assisted him every step of the way, overtaking any limitations he encountered. For example, he wanted the menu to follow the users when scrolling up and down. This function is not supported by Elementor, but our team made it happen.
Aside from the informational purpose, CEO Clarity has two main functions. One, signup for growth tips and the second, book a meeting.
Get growth tips
This first function allows users to subscribe to receive newsletters with valuable tips on how to improve leadership skills. This service starts soon, so don’t miss out!
Book a meeting
There is no better way to learn how to be a successful leader, than a one-on-one sit-down. So, the second function is booking a meeting with Kim. For this feature, we connected the Clarity calendar with Kim’s personal calendar, using Calendly.
So when Kim sets a meeting in his calendar, the Clarity calendar updates automatically, and vice-versa. This way, users always know when Kim is available, and Kim never misses a meeting.
Finally, CEO Clarity’s users are both Danish and international business people. Therefore, we integrated the Polylang plugin for the English and Danish translations. This plugin allows you to translate content, as well as custom elements like buttons, menus, and so on. Hence, you control which elements get translated and which do not.
The small yet professional team behind this project consists of Kowsika, front-end developer and Alina, project manager. Of course, let’s not forget about Kim, who is the driving force behind the CEO Clarity. Thank you all for making this project a reality.
CEO Clarity is all about simplicity and efficiency, about how less is more when you are doing it right. Even more so, it stands as a first leadership tip: don’t overcomplicate things but know your limitations. If a promotional landing page is enough to serve your purpose, stick with that. But when you are stuck or need more than what you can do yourself, reach out for help sooner, rather than later.
In the end, if you are a CEO and want to learn how to be a successful leader, don’t hesitate. Get in touch with CEO Clarity. And of course, if you want a promotional landing page or a more complex website of your own, start a chat with us today.
